• Royal Spa Kitzbühel only Leading Hotel in Tyrol
• Ski in / ski out: direct access to the Kitzbühel ski region
• Mountain Health Spa – a wellness dream on 3,600 square
metres
Vienna/Jochberg, 15 December 2009 – After a construction period of 19 months, the Royal Spa Kitzbühel Hotel is opening today as the only hotel in Tyrol to have been accepted into the renowned hotel association of The Leading Hotels of the World. The 5-star luxury hotel features 144 rooms and suites and offers direct piste access to the Kitzbühel Alps ski area. A world of rest and relaxation awaits guests in the 3,600 m² Mountain Health Spa, where the natural environs determine the treatment sequence. Project developer and owner of the hotel is a subsidiary of PORR Solutions Immobilien- und Infrastrukturprojekte GmbH and Ambo GesmbH, which invested € 70 million in the construction.
“The Royal Spa Kitzbühel Hotel is opening just in time for the start of the winter season in one of the most famous ski regions in the Alps. The direct access at Jochberg near Kitzbühel to the linked ski region speaks for the excellent location of the new hotel,” says Rudolf Tucek, CEO of Vienna International Hotelmanagement AG, convinced of the youngest VI hotel. As a result, the skiing fun begins directly in front of the hotel, with no ski-shuttle necessary and no need to carry your skis. The 168 kilometres of piste and 54 modern lift facilities offer a varied skiing experience for skiers and snowboarders of all skills.
In the summer, guests can enjoy a round of golf on one of the many golf courses in direct proximity to the hotel. Golfers may also perfect their swing at the hotel’s own driving range or – in the event that the weather doesn’t cooperate – in the in-house real-image golf simulator. “The Royal Spa Kitzbühel Hotel is an attractive all-year hotel which benefits from the destination’s high locational advantages. Our 140 hotel employees appreciate this too; under General Manager Kirsten Schneider-Kohnke, the employees have a place of employment all year round,” says Rudolf Tucek.
Modern design with a touch of traditional Tyrolean
architecture
The 5-star hotel features 123 Deluxe Rooms and 20 spacious
suites, as well as a 184 m² Presidential Suite, all with impressive views
of the surrounding mountains. The architecture stands out for its modern
elements in combination with traditional Tyrolean style. The use of Tyrolean
larch creates a cosy sense of well-being, while the fireplaces in the lobby, the
bar and the suites make for a comfortable atmosphere.
Guests are treated to culinary delights in the à-la-carte fine-dining restaurant “Lyrics” or – especially exclusive – in one of the private dining rooms that provide a special focus on privacy. For seminars and events, the Royal Spa Kitzbühel Hotel offers six conference rooms with a green sun terrace and enough space for up to 420 people.
Wellness dream on 3,600 square metres
The heart and soul of the hotel is the 3,600 m² Mountain Health Spa,
dedicated to a holistic natural experience and the elements of nature. The
healing power of nature, the meditative effect of the mountains, and the energy
of water and fire can all be found in the Royal Spa Kitzbühel Hotel. The serail
bath makes use of the healing power of mud, while the brine therapy area focuses
on the beneficial powers of salt. Other spa facilities include a Tyrolean
mineral oil sauna, a lava sauna and a Hildegard von Bingen steam bath, which
combines the positive effects of crystals with those of herbs and steam – the
first of its kind in a hotel in Austria. An invigorating cooling-off is offered
by the ice shower or ice fog corridor. The many quiet and relaxation areas,
including the exclusive private spa suites, will give the body a much needed
breath of fresh air. The holistic cocooning promises to be a special experience
that gently adjusts itself to the movements of the breath thanks to a unique
method. For sports and exercise, there is an indoor adventure pool, a
20 metre outdoor sports pool as well as a fitness and cardio area.
“At the Royal Spa Kitzbühel, we are specialised on offering our guests the opportunity at exclusive privacy and seclusion with our private dining rooms and private spa suites. This makes up the true luxury of Kitzbühel’s only Leading Hotel,” says General Manager Kirsten Schneider-Kohnke. “As a special treat for our little guests, we offer a childcare programme with games and fun at our Jo’s Kids Club.”
